The Double Fault

While giving her little daughter a graphic description of how a young boy disobeyed his mother and was burned to death through playing with matches, a lady was astonished at the child bursting into a violent fit of weeping.

“Remember, dear,” she said gently, “if he had obeyed his mother and left the matches alone, he would not have been hurt.”

“Oh, but why did his mother go out and leave the matches there?” sobbed the little girl.

Before we denounce wrong-doing in others, let us make sure that we have not put temptation in their way.
