The seasons on the wing of time both come and go
The tides of life with joys and sorrows ebb and flow;
We know not what the future holds in store
Yet sure we are of one thing, evermore
God reigns and rules with wisdom most benign,
And when our wills submissive, show the sign
Of truth and fellowship and love, He leads;
And though the way be rocky, great our needs,
He is the all-sufficient comfort to our souls
And buoys us up o’er sorrow’s waves and shoals,
Until the harbor comes in sight at last
And bitter tears and heartbreaks are all past.
So God, the guiding Captain of our lives,
With Christ, the Pilot, guides us to the skies.
