“What is Your Life?”

James 4:14

Life is a gift from God above,
For we in Him do live and move;
O let us, then, seek to be wise,
Nor dare God’s precious gift despise.

Life is a workshop where we make
The form our character shall take
Throughout the ages yet to be—
Fixing our endless destiny.

Life is a school, where we may learn
The will of God, and then discern
His loving kindness day by day,
While trav’ling on life’s toilsome way.

Life is a road: we’re trav’ling on,
And soon our journey will be done;
Let us make sure we’re on the road
That leads us to the blest abode.

Life here is short, and soon will be
Merged into vast eternity.
This life is swiftly passing by—
How rapidly the moments fly!

Life is uncertain: none can know
To-morrow’s gift of joy or woe;
Now is the time to seek His grace,
That we in peace may see His face.
